About John Albright, Founder
John Albright’s journey in the trades began in Durango, Colorado, where he learned plumbing from his father at a young age. After serving in the Marine Corps, he combined his hands-on experience with formal education in mechanical engineering and psychology. His entrepreneurial spirit led him to purchase his first company at 27, and while that venture didn’t succeed due to the 2008 recession, it provided invaluable lessons. Undeterred, John moved to Denver in 2011 and started over, eventually transforming Dema Plumbing into a powerhouse operation generating over $100 million in annual revenue by 2023.
Through building and acquiring five companies—including Dema Plumbing, My Mechanical, and tech solution SubAssist—John gained deep insight into the financial challenges facing trade businesses. His firsthand experience with supplier billing inconsistencies and overcharges inspired him to create Invoice IQ in January 2025. The platform immediately proved its value by uncovering $25,000 in overcharges for his own company in just one quarter, demonstrating John’s commitment to solving real problems that he and other trades professionals face every day.
